sees your anxieties but frees your spirit; recognizes your disabilities but emphasizes your possibilities.” -William Arthur Ward
Tightening the screws...checking the plugs...putting
finishing touches...yeah, getting set for Ireland's African ONLY modelling contest, the Xclusive Africa Topmodel.
On 15 May 2010, the first ever African modelling contest will be held in an exquisite hotel
in Dublin, Ireland. Details will be rolled out soon. The Africa Topmodel is the initiative of Xclusive Magazine to
discover talents and to celebrate and promote African creative beauty in the modelling industry.
To create massive awareness of this event, Xclusve Magazine has embarked on massive
tour of five major cities in Ireland, tagged Bumper2Bumper, County2County. Our first stop was in Limerick, and it was
a blast! Read about all that went down inside this edition. Of course, you will find xclusive photos of cool dudes
and sexy chicks that graced the occasion. Our next Bumper2Bumper Party is in Galway, then Cork, then Waterford
and finally Dublin. We are doing it like no other…we are doing it the xclusive way!
According to Henry Brooks Adams, "Politics, as a practice, whatever its professions, has
always been the systematic organization of hatreds." Indeed, the 2009 Irish Local Elections in the Mulhuddart ward, Dublin 15,
brought to the fore Nigerian's hatred for Nigerians. Simply put, it was a shameful replication of Nigerian-style politics of
bitterness, arm-twisting, intimidation, lies, intrigues, blackmail and other forms of political shenanigans. For nearly eight
months I investigated how it all played out, now read the sordid details. We titled it, “Bloody Battle of Mulhuddart: Intrigues,
lies, blackmail…” It is investigative journalism at its best!
T-Naija. Do you still remember her? Yeah, she was the face of Guinness (with Michael Powers) in
billboards all over the world. The girl is back, but simply as Tinu. This time not on the catwalk, but in the studio, with a
sophomore album, Addicted. You must read the interview, “Tinu: Celebrity singer, fashion model & Singer”. It is a vintage
Tinu: honest, direct and with no reservations.
Face of Africa Ireland is the best thing that happened to Ireland’s African Community in 2009.
Before now beauty pageant, too many of it for Africans, was dumped in the gutters: rigged, arranged, manipulated. Thank goodness,
Face of Africa Ireland has come to re-invent it and show everyone the way to do it, the good way. “Face of Africa: the glitz,
the glitter and the glamour” is a must read.
Thank you all: Advertisers, readers, Facebook friends, well wishers, my God. And to my very
special one, Gomgom. What would I be without you, my fair lady? Thank you for your love and support...and to my lovely
kids for being there, always.
Merry Christmas!
