The Grand Reception for Kemafo Nonyerem Chikwe, the new Nigeria

The grand reception for Kema Chikwe, the new Ambassador to Ireland, was on 30 June 2008
at the Four Seasons Hotel, a luxury hotel at Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, Ireland. Dr Chikwe, who earlier that same day presented
her credentials to the President of Ireland, HE Mary McAleese, was overwhelmed by the impressive number of Nigerians, Africans
and members of the diplomatic community who deferred their other engagements to come and welcome her to Ireland.
Looking elegant and radiant, Dr. Chikwe paid tribute to the members of staff of the
Nigeria Embassy, under the able leadership of Mr Ben Amobi, for the good work they have done and said she is lucky to be
working with the best of Nigeria diplomatic corps.
She also praised Nigerians as very wonderful and accommodating people, noting that it is
wrong to stigmatise all Nigerians, majority of whom are law abiding and hard working, because of the misdeeds of few other
Nigerians. The new Ambassador, who was accompanied to Ireland by her husband, her daughter, Nini (a graduate of University
of Benin), and a few other members of her family and friends, pledged she would fight that negative image...
