"It is not by identifying yourself with failure, but by identifying yourself with success, that success and not failure comes to us.”
-Norman Vincent Peale
In God We Trust.

In Year 2007, Xclusive Magazine sealed deal with Eason Stores to compete on the shelves with international brand names like OK!, Hello!, Time, Dubliner and the likes, thereby making it the first and only African Magazine to break into the Irish mainstream media market. 2007 is also the year that Rotimi Adebari was elected the Mayor of Portlaoise, becoming Ireland's first Black Mayor. 2007 is not just the year of good things, it is also the year of surprises. Michael McDowell, also know as “the Mad Mullah”, dramatically became ex-Justice Minister, ex- Tánaiste and ex-politician. It surprised the African community no be small. This month's cover story is, “Year 2007 in Review: the Good! And the Astounding!”
2Face Idibia is no doubt the hottest thing out of Africa right now. His maiden album, African Queen, sold over five million copies worldwide, and with it he has garnered several awards in and outside Africa. This boy is good, with music and…with women. As at the last count about three women are pregnant with his baby. In other words, in this age of HIV/AIDS 2Face Idibia is still going down without a condom, hmm! In “2Face Idibia: His Many Challenges” we chronicle the many vices of the greatest African musician of his generation.
Like most things Nigerian, the Virgin Nigeria first direct flight from Dublin to Lagos on 19 December 2007 came with great pomp and controversy. Seven Nigerians were not only deported with this same flight, but they were manhandled by the Irish Immigration Service personnel. And that didn’t go down well with most Africans. Xclusive Magazine was on board this flight and witnessed all that happened before, during and after the flight. We report facts and xclusively because you can never read this anywhere else.
Well, on 16 December 2007 we threw a surprise Xclusive Xmas Party at Hurly Burly, Finglas for the children of staff, writers, contributors and models of Xclusive Magazine. It was my own little way of saying “thank you” to the people who have done so much for this wonderful magazine. Sometimes words are not enough.
As the second phase of the re-structuring, re-engineering and re-strategising Xclusive Magazine, we are embarking on investigative journalism: picking up a controversial issue and looking at it from all sides. We are working on something big, very big. Watch out!
Happy New Year and may the good Lord grant us all our heart desires this 2008!
Amen!
