Publisher's Intro'
"When you have a problem, one that is especially difficult and baffling, perhaps terribly discouraging, there is one
basic principle to apply and keep applying - never quit.” -Norman Vincent Peale You Can If You Think You Can.
Love is so tender yet it bears the image of an aggressor. Even Cupid,
the Roman god of love, who has the face and body of a beautiful baby boy, is lacking in a child's tenderness: he is carrying a bow
and an arrow, taking aim…and apparently shooting people at random. So every minute people fall for love or are smitten by
love or are helplessly in love or are madly in love, and so they have done stupid things or continue to do stupid things
in the name of love. This month's cover, “Love Is Blind: the Unusual Things I Have Done for Love”, is a testimony to the
overwhelming power and machinations of love.
We've got the scoop of the decade! Michael Jackson, the pop icon, is set to storm Nigeria this October
for his first-ever concert in Africa. Who is bringing him? How much in dollars is his appearance fee? Who is bankrolling it? How many people are in his
entourage? Where is he playing? We have all the answers. It is explosive and xclusive! You will never read this anywhere.
And there is another xclusive on “Xclusive People”. Deputy Senate President of Nigeria, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, in an
xclusive chat with Xclusive Magazine in London was brutally frank on Nigeria politics, EFCC and the rule of law. What more can I say:
there are the regulars: “Out of Africa,” “Fashion fair,” “Agony Aunt,” “Women Corner,” “Short story”…we are the only Africa's lifestyle magazine
that offer you a total package and every month.
We are entering the next phase of Xclusive Magazine. In order to meet the attendant new challenges, we have to
re-structure, reengineer and re-strategise. We are doing this in phases. As the first phase, we have constituted a new Board of Editorial Advisers, made
up of four old members and two new ones: Lord Mayor Rotimi Adebari (he needs no introduction) and Jim Jamel, the CEO of Highridge Enterprises
Ltd, Munster's largest distributors of computer related networking products and peripherals. Jim is originally from Kenya. We have also
extended our sales outlet to Nigeria, the largest market in Africa. Now Xclusive Magazine is all over Ireland, Belfast, London, Nigeria
and still counting…
The new photo above is the slim me, the young-looking me, the real me. The one I had used in the last
eleven editions was taken before I started Xclusive Magazine. I have lost some stones now and apparently looking much younger, and, as
many people have said to me on many occasions, apart from the spectacles, the former photo was no longer me…
Best wishes, always!
